autumnslance:
Hello folks! If you’re unfamiliar with Tumblr, or the changes recently, feel free to ask people. Highly recommend the @changes blog as it’s like patch notes for Tumblr.
Check not only Follows but your Likes activity for bot accounts, and report them All as Spam, even if they have actual porn on them; flagging them as adult only gets their icon removed, but marking as spam means the account should get nuked. The current culprits are generically pretty women (sometimes men) with a single actual person name as the blog title/bio.
I have a tutorial to not get flagged as a bot yourself; please set an icon, a title, maybe bio, perhaps a pinned post. Even if all you plan to do is lurk and Like posts; let folks know you’re real as an empty default blog with default icon is also assumed to be a bot and gets blocked.
You’ll want to go into settings and set your custom blog URL to access all your pages and settings, too, and make your blog more accessible to others in general.
Tumblr’s ever evolving, so check the site’s documentation and with other users. Poke around a bit. Find the wacky lore this place has built up. There’s various published authors and celebrities lurking about but they’re mostly harmless.
